I had this happen once. Driving through a nearby town with a known hard-azz leo. He lit me up and was concerned about my trailer load. I got out one of those bungee spider web cargo nets and he felt that was good enough and let me on my way.
Ill bet he wasnt too happy when you threw it on him! APB for a black PU with a Raiders sticker on the back window!
I agree with getting a good load of load and have hauled allot of large loads but having something fall off a truck or a trailer could be a real bad day for someone else. To bad you couldn't put temp sideboards on your truck.
I do have a dump trailer but the rounds are only accessible by golf cart trail. Owner said no trailers allowed
I'd say you are doing just fine. 35 miles is quite a ride, I know some go farther and you do what you have to.
Few years back i hauled a load of kiln dried kindling home from a furniture wood supplier. I saw some small pieces blow out from the top when i got up to speed, so i stopped at a convenient store and bought a case of bottled water and poured the bottles over the wood, freezing them down. It was in the teens... It warmed up enough that afternoon to unload and haul it in the basement. Kiln dried kindling. Trailer (shown with real firewood)
