Helps bring loads of wood in while at the homestead.
It is much quicker moving than the kubota. Might need to make more trips but she shuttles the splits up to the racks pretty quickly.

My Rhino only hauls 300#, while my tractor trailer hauls 8 ton. But I love the Rhino for getting out to the woods quickly.

I load down my JD Gator quite often from the woods. Just was 'gifted' a beat up old trailer that is compact, so, it will see firewood time, needs tires, others are dry rotted.

My brother and I have Kubota RTVs. We can haul a face cord at a time with racks on the bed. Use them for cutting in the woods-we can usually get quite close to what we are cutting. His woodyard is out of the way 300 yards from his boiler shed- we can haul down 2 full cord to fill it in with 6 loads-takes about 2 hours including splitting.

Utvs are very handy, they'll tow a lot more wood with a trailer if you need the extra capacity.

Ronaldo what brand/model is that Ranger UTV? Is that a Polaris? I don't recognize it, maybe it is an old one. Looks cool!

Hello, Will, if you have a pic, that would be great! If you are saying that you can haul a face cord per RTV, that is amazing. Would love to see your RTV rack.

Bobcat is just a rebadged Polaris 500 one lunger. Belt drive CVT. Best thing on it is the button you push to raise/dump the bed. (electric screw jack)

It's a 2005 Polaris Ranger TM. It's a solid rear axle 2 wheel drive with locking differential. It does pretty well until we get snow or on real uneven terrain.

Love the Bobcat. What I really wish I had is a Toolcat! As for your Bobcat, I would need two saw scabbards in case I pinch the first!

My 900 Ranger used to help however it ended up being too large to go into the woods where I was hauling a lot of scrounges out of. When I upgraded tractors, I traded in the Ranger and went back to an ATV. I can take the ATV and trailer in many more places than I could take the UTV. I miss the Ranger but have adapted.

I decided to get a tractor to start out with and I'm glad I did. This thread is answering my questions about a UTV or ATV. UTV's seem to be pretty capable based on the pics here. I'm just having trouble wrapping my brain around the fact that a UTV costs more than my pickup. Can't afford it this year either way but its on the "list"!

I just picked up a 1998 Honda Four Trax ATV in very good condition. It's 300cc but makes 20hp. It is the 2WD model.
It ran, but the choke had to be half closed. I've ordered a carburator rebuild kit and should have it running by next week.

I've been hauling everything by hand for the past three years with a Gorilla Cart and I'm really looking forward to using it to enlarge my scrounging radius.

Thank you everyone for sharing your pictures and experiences using your machines for hoarding firewood.

My Pioneer is an integral part of my firewood process. It pulls the splitter, hauls firewood up to the house and is the primary equipment hauler when working in the woods. Here it is doing “support” work today on a blown down cherry.

I've used my old 300 cc 4x4 bayou extensively for firewood duty. Only 2wd will make you need to plan a little differently, but it's going to help you do your work so much easier.
