After Monday's storm all of my rounds and my splitter (tarped) are buried under snow with no chance of it melting soon. I'm debating whether to shovel everything out to start splitting. I don't need the wood. I'm just getting antsy knowing its there and not doing anything with it. Thinking out loud
My wood is under snow as well , I beat my cabin fever by shoveling the sidewalks of a few elderly in my area , then I took my tractor down the hill to recover a pickup truck that had slid into the ditch. I only hope the next generation will help when I'm too old to continue. The old folks around here are too proud to ask for help or feel they are a bother , I just show up and make the walkways safe for them .
If there ain't nothing else to do why not! Cleaning the snow up to be able to work sucks but I have to do it all wintery self.
Ive done it and shoveled to my stacks for deliveries. Exercise and cold air good for the mind and body! Go for it Dave! How deep is the snow?
A year ago i shoveled this to get to wood for delivery. It was light and powdery. Sometimes my friend will snow blow paths for me.
You can see the tarp covering the wood splitter. This was around Christmas time several years ago. The next time I split any wood was in April.
If you clear some of the snow around the splitter and the wood, it’ll melt out faster. I move snow quite a bit from places that I don’t want it. By exposing the ground sooner, the sun will have a chance to heat things up and get rid of the rest for you. Or if we have a mid winter thaw and some rain it’ll clean things up nicely.
Yep but its a cheap electric. We had a day of near 40 so its hard packed. The blower won't cut it like that
