After living in an appartent with no insulation and electric heat for 10 plus years the wife and I are finally in a house with a wood stove. New house has an oil boiler...Nope dont wanna pay those prices either. So here I am scrounging wood and payin myself. Very glad I found this place and I'm not the only looloo out there haulin and stakin.

I am attempting to take a pic of all my hauls. I forgot one so far. Not a bad start though.

I'm running an Echo Timberwolf and the inlaws old Blue Max saw as a backup/if I need another in a "pinch".

    Thanks for havin me!

Hardest part for me for scrounging is finding the time. The amount of wood being tossed and given away around here is unreal.

I used to do Mohegan now and then. Never been to Foxwoods. Nice country up there. I travel 95 to RI from time to time. Lots of gypsy moth killed oak out there.

Nice that you have the room. I scrounge mostly roadside. Plenty of that to be had. Sometimes from the wood lot and word of mouth.

Welcome Connecticut hoarder. Nice loads. I remember the electric heated apartments with no Insulation. Ice on the inside of the windows, gotta love it.

    Welcome to the forum friend.

It sounds like you've been on here a bit and now we are happy you have joined and are posting. We hope to learn from you.

That must have been a struggle in the apartment all those years. Are you in the market for a good wood stove now? There are many good ones out there today.

    Are you selling some wood?

Yes I have been lurking for a while. Some reason I couldn't get the account making to happen finally got some help from admin for that. Ya the electric bill was insane. 5 to 700 a month or so. The current house came with an old Magee something or other wood stove. We are going to get an EPA stove this summer. When I get to the point where I'm swimming in wood and the wife starts complaining I'll probably sell a few chords a year. Zero plans to enter the firewood bizz though.
