Say it isn’t so. Please. Somebody.
Word on the street is Makita is discontinuing the gas powered line. I’ve run others but only ever owned Dolmar. Now what do I do? I’m sure to need another chainsaw in a few years. Can’t likely name my saw Husky eater if it is a dang blasted Huskvarna. I’m honestly a bit heart broken I really liked the lightness and balance point of the Dolkita.

Look for a reputable power shop and go with the brand they carry.

Parts will still be available, buy a NIB Makita & save it till you need it.

learn how to repair and rebuild chainsaws and you will keep that Dolmar and other saws running for as long as you need.

I have a few Dolmars myself including a 120SI. A strong running saw.

I don't plan on ever giving up my Dollies.

Makita on the other hand, not sure I can forgive their mis-management of a strong equipment manufacturer. Dolmar was always a bit player with poor dealer support. But Makita had an opportunity to strengthen a brand they purchased and all they did was let them flounder and changed colors and product names and then basically dumped them on the curb.

We can only hope Makita sets Dolmar free.

I just talked to my sales rep on monday as of dec 2021 they did not renew their epa certs on power equipment they have a lot of inventory to unload this year the parts support will end in 7 years the best chance would be for someone to buy the line and keep it going but it does not look likely JB

    Dont sweat it.
I'm a Mcculloch guy. Always have been, and theyve been gone for awhile now.
Theres still plenty of parts and saws around, just have to look a bit.
If you like Dollies, keep on running them.
Buy up NIB, NOS, and used/parts saws as you find them.
Should last the rest of your life.

It's a bummer. I have two. A Dolmar built Makita and a Makita built Makita. I especially like the feel of the Dolmar made saw. I like them both alot but I also like my modern Stihls and my vintage Remingtons, Homelite, mcculloch ect.

That's what I've done for the rotten Raspberry saw. New piston, rings, gaskets, seals, fuel lines ect. All kept safe and sound in case I ever need them.
