Don't forget the rain before that, then the sub-freezing Temps at night. I thought I left this freeze / thaw stuff in New England years ago. My driveway is about a quarter mile long and its going to be a sheet of ice in a few more days... Time to put chains on the Unimog.
Had about 14" of snow Sunday night to end of Monday. Today it was sunny and in the 20's. Going down to 10 tonight. I have beech and red oak burning (beginning to sound like a broken record....wait, do they even still make recordss?)
Currently -6° and then supposed to warm up a little overnight so that we can have 2 to 4 inches of snow dropped on us throughout the day. Right now I’m burning a mix of Beech and Yellow Birch.
Totaly awsome day here mid 50's, mostly sunny and light breeze. Went out to Lefty's place and helped with his trailer. After that fired up the old 35 ton, 1 pull, and split some of Edwin's wood for him. Teach him for leaving the keys in the (my) splitter. Note: the loose piles are what I split today. Edwin always stacks as he splits to keep in neater.
38F here with a stiff wind. Temps drop tomorrow, but no real snow forecast. We could use some to freshen things up. Burning a mix of lower btu "stuff" in both cookers.
They still don’t have all of the secondary roads cleared from the last snow. Some people are just getting power back in time for another round of snow sleet and ice. For NC the next week will be the coldest so far. Not yankee cold, but teens is cold for us. I’ve been in NC since 83 and I don’t remember when there has been snow cover for over a week. The mountains is a different story.
16* here, and just added fresh fuel to last nights coals. In case your wondering Dennis, the house is a balmy 60*. And rising.
28* getting to 42. Today suppose to be warmest day for next 10 or so. Thaw/ freeze cycle has my drive a mess. Black cherry with some BL mixed in to get house warm this morning
Supposed to rise to 40 today with a slight chance of rain, hope no rain. Then fall to 15 and cold for a stretch. 70 inside now and will feed some ash and cherry or sycamore.
