I thought you guys might get a kick out of what I heard driving into work on Thursday am.

Going through channels on the radio I got a 2 different station mashup of people talking about covid and the start of 46 & 2 by Tool, from the beginning with that awesome bass line and punchy bass drum beat. Kinda epic really. Especially when you recall lyrics from "fear inoculum" from 2019, which predated the whole current pandemic.

    Maynard would've been proud.

We get these radio station "mashups" from the lower peninsula of Michigan sometimes. Two different stations on the same frequency, probably aided by lake Michigan. Usually only in the morning, not during the day.

I made note of what station was playing TooL, as you barely ever hear tool on the radio, especially an awesome song like 46 & 2.

There are a LOT of 46 and 2 covers, many of which are quite good.

Fell asleep early last night so catching up:

I was listening to this today and thinking it's a little worn. I bought it in 71, I've played it hundreds of times. BB King in his prime! I saw him 4 or 5 times back then, he was fabulous. It was minus 3'F here today so good day to stay in, feed the stoves and CRANK IT UP!

I remember hearing dad play this as a kid. I don’t recall what band. Fond memories!

Moved on to this one. Can’t show the cover due to it being inappropriate, but in my list of all time favorites it is way up there. Transforms me right back to my late high school days.

Just got this on vinyl and it is not very impressive. The original pressings are going for $100ish and this is a German press from Warner Records (RhinoVinyl). Here’s my favorite song from it:

I figured it out. They are big fans of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band so that's the version I'm familiar with.
