So much youngest son (14) decided he would clean the ashes out of the stove for us, and he got to wondering what the panels were for at the top of the stove and he rammed the fire poker into the vermiculite panels broke them ......both.
Where can I buy more of these? They are about 8x8 maybe 10x10 at the most.

Are they broke, or just a hole through them?
Either way, get a tube of furnace cement and glue them back together (or "plug" holes) you'll have to let it cure a day before putting them in...have done it a number of times with good results...works great on broken firebricks too!

    Replacement boards are surprisingly expensive.

Especially if you buy the factory board. Amazon shows a bigger than what I needed board for $40 and the same manufacturer, not quadrafire, aftermarket cut to fit for my stove for nearly $100. I'll gladly save $60 to make a couple of cuts with a razor. I think the quadrafire factory brand was $120.

Actually, in a worst case scenario, I'm thinking the stove can still be used, no?

I'm sure by now it all taken apart......

I'm just going to suck it up and buy the right ones. It's going to be $140, maybe I'll make my son pay me back for it. He breaks a lot of our stuff.

Ha, I got it. He either buys propane for our tank ($400, or so) , or He can buy the baffles for the stove. That will get him thinking about stuff

OK!!! Brand new up date!! I spoke with my wife and she said if we have to spend a few hundred bucks fixing the wood stove we have......then just buy the one you WANT!!!!!!!!

    Oh, Wow!!!

    Looking at the Drolet 2100!!

Does anyone have any objections, or alternatives??

Oh man, I can just imagine the conflicting themes in your son's head. From "I broke it and now I have to pay for it", to "so....if I don't like what I have, I can break it and get something better!"

More life lessons and teachable moments I reckon!

But are you SURE your wife REALLY means it??? If so, you better strike while the iron's hot! Congrats to you, but what stove do you really want???

What stove make/model are you currently using? Drolet makes good stoves at a decent price. The 2100 is a large stove. 3.5cu/ft.

Better order now...they said they have a substantial price increase coming first of the year...looks like they haven't changed it...YET!
They are taking pre-orders for the 2100, but typically I think the order time is less than they say (1 month now)

That is the stove I want. Firebox is almost twice as big, all the specs say better and more efficient.

The money is spent!! Unfortunately, the company shipping it has it on back order until the middle of February.

The whole package was only $1,730. And that includes the small blower assembly which was a add on/ option.

I'm put the broken panels back in my stove to just use it. It was -15 below this morning on my way to work, and it was either a wood stove or propane, my 500 gallon tank is on at 35%.

My wife doesn't know that we will need more propane before winter ends. Te He
