One (or more) of the Teslas has a heat pump HVAC and is actually fairly frugal heating/cooling the cabin. Snow can be a somewhat effective insulator, too.
The HVAC for the batteries will run as well.

I still would not like to be in an EV and be stranded on I94 in North Dakota in January where temps would be way below zero F along with wind. Be interesting to do that same test in Fargo or Bismark in the winter.

So my EVs are a Ford Mustang Mach-E which uses resistive heat and a Hyundai Ioniq 5, which uses a heat pump. The Mustang was using more energy at 15F to keep the cabin at 65 than the Ioniq. So even at 15F where a heat pump typically starts loosing its advantage to resistive heat, this does not take into account cabin differences, insulation etc. it was just a real world test for me so I would know for my own circumstances.

Both of these cars have battery heating systems. These batteries, much like any other battery don’t like to be frozen. I’m not quite sure how the battery heater works in the Ioniq yet but I think the Mustang will only keep the battery warm when the car is plugged in.

I do keep typical “emergency” stuff in both cars. I bet you could stay quite warm with just a blanket and the seat heater on. The seat heaters use even less energy than the HVAC.

I'd guess that a 12 vdc electric blanket or 2 or 3 plugged into an EV would keep you warm for a ridiculous amount of time.
