36° as of 4:45 this morning. Black and yellow birch tossed onto last night's chestnut oak coals. I'm just about out of oak for this season, at which point black locust and beech will be my go-to wood when I need overnight burns that leave me with good coals in the morning.
Steve (Eggshooterist) is getting hammered with snow. He is a bit NW of you and closer to the big pond.
Is that (gold mine) where the bare spots show on google earth? Reminds me when my wife and I camped near a gold mine when we wintered near Yuma.
Low 30s. Tossed some oak on top of the nice coal bed from last night. Calling for some snow tonight. Hope The Wood Wolverine , farmer steve and me can handle it.
It looks like that patch of snow just keeps hanging in only that one small area. Lucky you! Now you can run the tractor.
Send it buddy, way better than 35 and gloom for weeks on end. 18 here and still snowing. Off to load the stove.
14 and windy. That's our high for the day. Boiler was shockingly full of last night's load of cherry and hickory...full enough that I won't load any more until before bed tonight. Supposed to get deep in the single digits tonight...coldest night of the season.
0 out this morning with -15 windchill. High today is only 3 and windchills -15 to -20. Loaded the OWB up with red oak.
32/71 Mulberry doesn't last as long as oak that's for sure! Biddleman I'm in the 3-5" range. Sounds like we'll be able to clear the driveway with a leaf blower.
4 this morning and oak in the Lopi. Only getting to the mid teens today. This afternoon I will be doing some snow blowing of the driveway after being in Bible study at church this morning. Being retired sure is nice for doing chores when I want to
Took these after plowing. Two different flat open areas. We only had a couple inches of crust before yesterday.
-7F with continuing wind. Full sunshine is nice. I snuck out a partial pail of ash which had to be strategically spread, out of the wind! Red Oak is nice but I really miss my Pine this year for coal/ash reduction, management. Especially when it's this cold. Carry on everybody. Our winter is here! Brrrrrr.
16' /69' Wind out of NW at 16mph. I've got all red oak in the Buck Stove 91 insert with the blower on full throttle! This is wood I just brought in from the get away property. I wish I had some Osage here at the house to mix in with it. It's all out at the hunting cabin!
