I have about 6 cords that need to be trimmed from 22" to 16".
    This contraption should help.

Works very well. I can trim a lot of splits in a short time.

    Nice!
That should make every split darn near the perfect length every time !

    6 cord, AAAAArg !
Gonna have lots (close to a cord) of 6" pieces for shoulder seasons.

They work great, ours will get burned this year in the outside fireplace, I think any of the longer splits are gone but for the odd split that is to long, we'll burn east/west or the outside fireplace.

I've recut some with a much cruder jig made from pallets. I suggest you put a tarp under it if that's your lawn that you are working on. It makes for much easier cleanup. About the difference between the walking and the speed of light and you will actually still have a lawn.

I'm pretty sure I'd sell it well before thinking of cutting 6 cords like that! You've got more motivation than me 2 or 3 times over!

White oak, cherry, hickory, and locust.
I think I'll leave the locust out for the pig roast... bleh!

My stove can take 19" E-W, and for a while I cut and scavenged accordingly. Imagine my consternation when I realized I could load in a lot more wood N-S, which is only 14". Now the long sticks get burned during the day, and short ones overnight. I am looking forward to the day I've used up all the long stuff.

I had 9 cords cut to 22" when i had the Jotul f500 2 years ago
switched to the princess last year. I cut 3 cords off of pallets, a dump cart, while stacked, anything I could think of. What a pain in the azz.
6 more cords to go. ugh.

Would it be reasonable to just cut the 22 in. splits in half? Might be easier to handle than a bunch of short ends.
