A shot from stacking in late March. This is the first time I hit the 10 cord mark.

@Fanatical1 ...yes, I am in Woodstock, which is about 20 miles straight north of downtown Atlanta. BTW all that is hand split, if I do pat my own back! (and 57 this year!)

Very nice. I use to live in woodstock for a couple years. Really liked it too! About 2 blocks from lake Alatoona off Wade Green road and then north a bit more. :)

Nice work hand splitting it all too. 10 cord with no stove?!

    Dave,

How readily available is the birch in your immediate area? I assume it's all over, I mean your in Alaska and birch is as common as the state bird, but am curious how and where you get it from.

Love the shots of the birch ends checking too.

In this area it pretty easy to get.

I cut in a state cutting area . Birch & spruce.
I try to cut just birch.

Easy stuff has been cut. I use the atv to skid it to the trailer & then buck & load

@Fanatical1 No kidding...I am off of East Cherokee between Hwy 5 and Hwy 140/Hickory Flat area...I used to work at Little River Marina, and also Glade Marina! Small world...I am getting back into selling to the transplanted Northerners that have moved here - with the added benefit of keeping me in shape!

I lived in Woodstock there between 1985 - 1987 and then got transferred with my job. I loved Woodstock and Atlanta and probably would still be there if it weren't for the job opportunity. I had a great house and it was really cheap back then.

I don't remember all the roads, but I lived in development just south of the lake on the left and there was a marina just a few blocks north of where I tuned left to enter the development. All 1 acre lots and cedar homes and all heavily wooded. Where I worked they called us either Yankees or damm Yankees. You were a dammed Yankee if you moved there! :) I loved it and loved the lake too. Small world is right!
