-8 out right now, heading to -16 for the night.
Filled the OWB with red oak.

Spent the day at my brothers making venison snack sticks, (beer and beer cheese) and venison jerky.
20lbs of snack sticks and 25lbs jerky

Little bit of my jerky in the forming stage.

I stuffed the stove with Osage tonight, I had to turn on the fan, it was running about 900* on the flue probe. I also had the air turned clear down, I ran the fan until till it dropped under 800*. It seems to be holding @ 800* now, that’s a bit higher than I like to run it but not outrageous.

We're down to 7 this morning suppose to drop a few more yet. But stuffed the stove at 8 pm lastnight with hedge and 2 pieces of silver maple to get the ball rolling. I put a big O' chunk of hed right in front of the dog house, to let it chew on it over night. The back half was coals this morning. So back to silver maple for the day time. Oh yea 76 in the house this morning when I woke up. Nice.

-2f 6mph NNW wind heading for a high of 18f. Locust and ash in stove for the first feeding. Need to run out to Lefty's to try and get his landline back in service, most likely damaged wire feeding his barn that burnt down yesterday.

22 out and 71 in. Burning down red oak coals. Looks like there might be some frost in the ground by next weekend. Most got try to get some wood out if that’s the case. Been really wet around here so far this winter.

61 on my way to Ohio. Supposed to see snow tomorrow on my way back through the mountains. A buck ran into the side of my truck last Thursday night. There is a nice dent to remind me. He was east bound and down fully committed to crossing in traffic. Glancing blow of my rear quarter.

It was -11 at 5:30 this morning when I got up. Temps have been dropping since and now at -14. Burning oak in the stove and oil in the furnace. No snow expected today.

Morning! Was low 20’s overnight and about the same throughout the day. Light snow. I’m into 100% oak now and will be like that pretty much rest of season. Think I have some locust mixed in the stack I should hit about February. First time that I can remember that I’ve burnt all the same species for any period of time. So far I’m liking the heat and how long it lasts from this oak. Does take a lot longer to get the stove rolling and shut down. I know the coals can build up a lot when the temps drop though. Have a great Sunday, GO BILLS!
