I wish I could retire...lol... Actually had to work all Christmas weekend. 1 good thing about the 12 hr shift rotation, normally only work 14-16 days a month. I added some vacation time to my days off, really helped on this score. Off all next week too, heading back to the log score in the morning...
It's hard some days, but those pesky folks that put monthly envelopes in the mail box encourages me to go to the plant......
Fill the sheds some......we have room for 10 cords in empty sheds, and probably room for 4 cords in our biggest shed that still has some hickory in it.
Thanks for the nice comments...I'm older than you...... We can take our insurance with us at 60, but the pension/401K takes a beating...
Thanks, we might need to have a Dixie GTG...lol... Maybe August or September, so our Northern friends won't have to drive in bad weather...
Might hafta wait until about Thanksgiving (maybe even later) to get most northerners to come down to work in that oven you call home
I think some of the smaller logs, 6-10" dia is. Probably got a trailer load of that size to get. The bigger logs will still dry faster though.
Aw, come on, Dave, it ain't that bad. How many people PAY to go to the gym, saunas and steam baths... As JJ says on the insurance commercial "It's FREE" We gots fans, pool and lights for night work. We even have some friends making something better than the Cornflakes y'all had at the GTG... Copperhead Shine
So .... Let's get back to the sawmill being sold........ Forget the processor Jeff and get into the "precision Firewood" business.
Having been to a few GTG'S and just thinking of the men that attend, I think you should drain the pool!
