21 out right now, got about 4 inch's of snow last night then freezing mist this morning, now the wind is blowing strong! Oak in the OWB.
The wind just picked up here also...strong....real strong! Guess I can kiss the internet goodbye for awhile. 16/72
32 here with a deep bed of red and chestnut oak coals chugging along. Looks like another round of shoulder season will be upon us for the next few days
Off of work today and the family is enjoying the fire and playing board games. Currently burning apple and pine. Tossed in a color changing pack for fun. 43 out and 73 in.
36F & wet snow then mist here today. Grey damp & not nice. Grand kids came & we took down a couple dead Pine trees. Wasn't real enjoyable, but we got it done. Going down to 32 overnight. Pretty much same chit forecast till Saturday when it "might" get a bit colder & snow. Burning through my spring shoulder wood. Ground's mush, but we're gonna try making a few cord of firewood tomorrow.
It was about 76f or maybe a bit warmer here yesterday, nothing burning, they were running the AC here at my wife's mom's yesterday . I was a little on the chilly side myself. Not sure why it's not like it was hot in the house?
It’s about 30* here & supposed to stay right around that overnight. I put in 2 splits of Elm, a split of Cherry & a 5” round of Osage.
While I have a connection. I think the cell tower may be iced over from the rain. Around 14° out . Winds calm Aspen and Birch in the wood stove. I chained up the front of my F350 this morning and got my wife to town. She will stay where we've house sat the past couple winters. It's just 2 blocks from her work It was a serious go aheadoner show getting out our winter road. Have ended up with around 2" thick ice layer on the top of the snow we got Christmas night. It was 25 to 30 mph all the way into Delta. One guy doing snow removal had his tracked Cat skid steer buried half way up the tracks and was shoveling it out. Looked like he was in his 30s. He had taken his bucket off for some reason. So he couldn't use it to help himself out.
We are getting close to the new year and it appears this will be the first time I have not plowed snow before the end of December. Weird.
It's very odd for sure. As is the very destructive warm up in Alaska, at least according to our local weather guy. 26f here, so maybe the log yard will be ok for a few hours.
Balmy 5 out this morning, calling for a few more inch's of snow today. Loaded the OWB with oak for the day. Temps drop after today with highs in the low teens and below 0 every morning for at least a week, gonna be making a lot of ash this week.
33 and 74 inside. Sugar maple burning, everything a muddy mess here. River is raging, supposed to be cold coming this weekend.
Mid-twenties with a fresh coat of powder overnight. Made for nice views with the morning cup of coffee. Started the Regency with red maple and white birch but it's feeding on beech now.
Woke to 30 out, 73 in. 1/2 way to work I came upon an accident in the south bound lane of rt15, I was traveling north. As I crossed the small bridge this wreck was located at, I completely did a 4 wheel slide across it and when the tires caught grip it shook me straight again. Very dangerous conditions. Hope no one wadded it up northbound.
Jeez glad you didnt crash. Hopefully the accident didnt cause any injuries. Backwoods Savage thats interesting. Are you in a drought or is it that you have had warmer than usual weather causing rain instead of snow? I see lots of folks are pretty balmy for this time of year. We warmed up from last night due to clouds moving in so it was -25c/-13f this morning. Doug fir and larch in the box. Glad it didnt snow!
