Classic country songs tonight and tomorrow on radio.

Right now, classic cowboy music performed by "Riders in the Sky"

I grew up listening to a healthy dose of both those. Willie and Leon was in heavy rotation.

I could listen to Tool all day. Add some A Perfect Circle and Puscifer and you probably could listen to it all day and not repeat.

Joni is going to be honored at the Kennedy Honors award show this Wednesday Dec 22nd. If you're in your late 60s or early 70s today, you grew up listening to Joni. I did, and I'm still in love with her.

Leon was one of those timeless musical giants that could cross over all sorts of musical genres. He was a power house contributor for his work with Clapton, JJ Cale, The Beatles, Elton John and so many more. But at the same time he was a humble quiet man who just loved music.

RIP Leon, we miss you! I need to start buying all his records I missed along the way.

I love the music others post up here, as for some reason you FHC guys all have some great stuff I wouldn't see anyplace else. This is a great example.

Thanks! Have a wonderful musical Christmas and New Year 2022!

Merry Christmas guys! It's been a busy day with last-minute errands, setting up the tree, all that stuff. But this afternoon, it's been coffee and a couple of mellow albums. Bill Evans is a somewhat well-known piano player in the jazz world from the 50s/60s. Tom Rush is a New Hampshire native, kinda big on the folk scene in the early 60s, he's still performing today.

Merry Christmas to all and Happy New Year.

I got some music for Christmas. Music and books, I never have enough of either.

I have a number of these Blue Note jazz releases from the Tone Poet series. They are high-quality, audiophile record albums of many of the historic jazz albums of Blue Note's 1950'/60's records. This album is a one off, that isn't from the Blue Note catalog, but was from the Pacific Jazz portfolio, which, due to a series of buy-outs, Blue Note has control of since the early 90s. This album is one that Blue Note felt it was important to the history of jazz to reproduce. The trumpet player for this album, Dupree Bolton, may have been one of the finest trumpet players that ever lived. He spent most of his life behind bars due to his illegal use of heroin. What a sad waste.
