Wet weather forecasted for the next few days. So, I'll be topping off the deck wood rack before running a few local errands.

One of my errands today, is to take dad for a hearing test.

 

Good morning y'all. Hope y'all have TREMENDOUS THURSDAY. Last day off......until Monday. 28° right now, small hickory rounds and a hickory chunk on top is warming the house to 75°. Got a few errands to run, got company coming over this evening, putting bacon wrapped chicken breast on the smoker, also smoking some turkey breast roasts for Christmas Eve and Day. Need to cut wood, move logs around..........too busy.......but glad I'm able to do some of it.

Good morning everyone! It will be a cold one today, won't get out of the 20's. But, I've got a fire in the stove, and my favorite person to keep me warm, so hibernation isn't that bad. I'll venture out to swim, of course. Favorite diet food lately is carrot sticks & spicy hummus. Have a bacon-wrapped chicken breast for me, Jeff!

The 1 we did at Thanksgiving was great.

 

Morning All. Right around freezing this morning. I think we see sunshine today but I am not sure. Looks pretty certain we will have snow for Christmas as the Arctic front is moving not only down the province but out to the coast as well. I got one sewing project finished and! cleaned up the sewing room for the next projects. I was about four projects behind in cleaning up. Because I could see the floor, the room got vacuumed as well.

I have some oak in the stove keeping the house warm. Supposed to get up into the low 40's today. Seeing it is the holiday season I made my yearly batch of Krumkaka, a Norweigan cookie. Made about four and a half dozen doing two at a time. My back was killing me when I was finished so sitting in front of the computer screen is giving my back a rest. For those of you who are not familiar with those cookies, here is a pic I took a couple years ago. This years look just the same.
And to keep the wood theme in this, they were rolled on turned cherry forms.

 

He had an ear infection, that's been cleared up for several weeks.

Today was a regular maintenance check with his 2 hearing aids.

All's well, though!

 

Do you fill them like a cannoli, or ice cream cones?

Regardless, they look just as they are with a hot coffee or chocolate.

Chaz is out doing some shopping. He has a 4 day weekend.

Some people squirt canned whip cream in them but I just eat them plain. They are very fragile and would fall apart easily if anything was forced into them.

Low 20's and light flurries. Forecast is for light snow today. 1-2 inches of snow. Would be nice for it to stay around for Christmas day. The last white Christmas here, was reported to have been in 2009.

A few minor things to tend to before later this afternoon. I've already placed an order for Chinese take-out. Taking it to have with Mom and Dad.

Then, a quiet Xmas eve in front of the woodstove.
