Cylinder Index Game!

    Ok so its pouring rain outside and a slow work day... time for some fun.

    Anybody ever play the "cylinder Index Game" ? We had this one on one of my radio control forums a while back. Deal is that we all count up how many reciprocating engine cylinders we own and see who has the most.

    Rules-
    1 It has to be a reciprocating engine of some sort.
    1A Exception - If you have a Mazda wankel I'll count it cause they are cool. 1 rotor = 1 cylinder
    2 It has to burn some sort of fuel. I dont care if its gas, diesel, moonshine, nitro, coal, used frier oil or cow farts. It just has to involve fire.
    2A The fire can be internal or external - So yeah Ill count it if you have a steam engine or something wacky like a sterling.
    3 there are no other rules.

    So basically everything but the cylinders in you air compressor(s) counts. The engines dot have to be currently running, just in your possession. So if you have a project car all torn down it counts.



    So who is game? I will start to give you an example how it works:

    Toyota Tacoma - 6
    Honda Pilot - 6
    POS Troybuilt mower - 1
    Ariens blower -1
    generac genny- 1
    Mantis honda tiller -1
    Husky trimmer - 1
    Husky 435 - 1
    RC airplane engines - 5
    RC helicopter engines -1
    Total CI = 24

    Ok so the bar is set. Your resident pinko treehugger got a 24. The best I saw on my RC board was one guy with 160 who had a huge collection of hobby engines. Some of you C.A.D. guys better be able to blow this one out of the park.


    If this generates some interested we can get Scotty to invent some cool levels like the hoarder status levels.

    A guy by the name of Joe Soucheray on KSPT in St. Paul started all this cylinder index stuff years ago… when I was an avid hot rodder, and general collector, my index was about 225. Now it's maybe forty...
