I recently ordered a new Blaze King, in mid November, was promised a mid January delivery by the dealer after he verified with BK. They called me last week and said deliver will be March. I feel like I was not told the truth somewhere along the line.
Are woodstoves in that much demand now ? Anyone else waiting a long time for a new BK or other new stove?

I doubt you've been duped. This is the way of everything ordered right now. New trucks are taking 4-5 months. Powersports and OPE are months and months behind scheduled delivery dates. It's unfortunately the way of the new world...

I've heard this a few times too. Even couches are 9 months backordered. I'm still sorry you have to wait intheBigWoods on such a cool new purchase!

Hope you get your stove soon. I also will be waiting until March for a Woodstock stove I just ordered.

So far this year I ordered a hot tub in March expecting a September delivery, still waiting. The dealership I purchased my truck from last year offered to buy it back for slightly more than I paid??? That’s when I knew it must be bad.

Talked to a kid who works at a local stove shop...he said the same thing, popular models are not coming in till march at this point. Supply chain issues.
    We got ours off craigslist.....

I just put one on order from Woodstock as well. The person I talked to mentioned that their challenge is getting enough stone right now. One person told me March, another told me May.

Delays are likely due to absenteeism on the production floor or material delays. I don't think too many places have inventory cushions of everything like they used to or would like to to keep things moving slowly.

Even grocery shopping I'm kinda shopping around what they have. The stores here don't necessarily have empty shelves but they're filling what is actually empty spaces of things they are out of with things they do have. I laughed when I saw three shelves of spinach in the frozen veg freezer yesterday.

You ain't kidding- and I'm not taking this in some far off direction.. I'm a teacher and I've never seen so many teachers out on a daily basis.
Say what you will about my profession- and some of it is deserved- but personally I've been pretty sick the last 2 weeks and would have loved to stay home and just recover, and I did take two days at the worst of it to not spread it around. Otherwise I kept a mask on, kept washing my hands and otherwise kept my distance from folks... and while I work in a fairly big school, the numbers of people who are out are just huge. Easily 50 people a day and this Friday it was nearly 60.

People are sick, tired, burned out- all sorts. I'm actually surprised things aren't worse.

Several on here work for manufacturers and dealers, they have mentioned 6 month back logs at least!

A few months is not bad at all; especially if he honors old price, steel is going through the roof

I've had some correspondence with SBI here lately and they said their steel prices have tripled, even with buying volume...said to expect a 30-35% price increase across the board on all SBI models for 2022.

Surprised its not more...when one of your main raw materials triples in cost...

Well, that's a little higher than other industries are going due to increased costs. Cars have a bit of steel in their construction but haven't gone up nearly that much. There aren't any to buy so I guess it doesn't matter...LOL

I can concur about triple the standard steel prices. Since the pandemic started it's just been crazy. Materials have been tough to get all around. The shortages can be continuous, or rolling, depending on so many factors.

Cars are only partly steel (and thin steel at that) maybe, MAYBE 50% (much less than 50% cost wise I'm sure) but the main raw material in steel stoves/furnaces is...steel...if you think about it you have maybe a piece of glass, some firebrick, a baffle board or two (maybe a cat depending on brand) and maybe a bit o electronics depending on model...the rest is all (pretty thick) steel. Steel and labor are SBI's two biggest expenses I'm sure...and labor costs sure haven't went down!

I wonder if Kuuma will follow. Seems like they will have no choice.

Have you checked the price recently? They have already went up...they have had several smaller increases in the last year or two

I have not. I'm glad I'm not in the market for a lot of things right now. All Ford products just went up 1-2k. Powersports all have a logistics surcharge. The quad I ordered before all this went nuts just went up 1k plus said logistics charge. And it goes on and on...
