I really do appreciate the tree guys dropping off free wood . . . most of the time. These backbreakers are the worst, had to buy a 36" bar just to get this baby bucked into more manageable pieces, might end up doing some blackpowder splitting and make it a little easier on myself
461, usually run a 28" bar, but I put a HO oiler in and figured I would see how it runs a 36" might get a 661 someday to permanently mount the 36 but the 461 runs it well enough for ocassional use.
Good lawd that’s a big piece of wood ! I save my noodles to make firestarters, I would have a life time supply after that monster
Holy balls! I guess you don't have much of a choice I personally turn stuff like this down and I had a maple taken down about that size, I've no idea what they did with the trunk Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I hope to not have to noodle it up, Im working on a loader mounted splitter for the tractor so maybe I can just drive up to the rounds and crack them into smaller pieces. Yea I don't turn anything down because they bring trailer loads and if I dont take it all Ill get nothing and they will find someone else that will take everything. They mostly bring nice stuff just gotta deal with the ocassional rotten log or monsters like this.
Yeah I had a couple muscles and joints do a nervous twitch when I saw it too! Maybe you could flip it over and just let it be a piece of yard artwork?
Welcome to FHC Nitrover I see multiple table tops from that bad boy!!! 661 or 880 with a 72” bar is my suggestion.
Welcome to FHC. You'll like it here. We like beer, dogs and pics. Lots of pics. We have a lot of very knowledgeable people here who are willing to share.
Looks like the tree guys are having fun with you by saying to each other "Let's see how he deals with this one ."
Oh for sure, especially because they stacked it on top of a bunch of other logs and I had to roll it off the top
Put up a free ad on Marketplace. Offer local delivery. I get tree company drop offs and I have moved a lot of ugly wood that way. Too much aggravation and time in those pieces.
