These were some tall hemlock. Big enough to get a dozen 12'' boards out of each of the bottom 2 logs and a almost 12 out of the third. Broke in a brand new 24" bar and chain on my old trusty 044. I've had this buddy for 35 years or so.

Here's the top of the first one. Nearly 30' although I didn't actually measure it.
The wonderful weather man was calling for flurries on and off all day, not more than an inch. Started snowing around 10 and there's a solid 3" when it got dark.
I found another area with better tractor access loaded with 5'+ circumference

Yeah sweet trailer. Hydraulic grapples are great

I think about the settlers that cleared land with hand tools and effort. They’d be jealous I bet!

I'll ride around here looking at all the stone walls running off into what now is woods. The term "turning in their graves" comes to mind.

A few more big ones to cut down and I think I'll have enough.

    Don't I know it!:headbang:
The past few days my shoulder has been killing me and (because) everything that I've been doing is overhead. I'm trying real hard to get the overhangs finished before I jump into the siding and the roof has a winter long layer of snow and ice on it.
I need to check into a cortisone shot or something.
