We have a friend in the site clearing business. He has been hauling trees home for awhile. He had bought a sawmill, used it a little. Only had 110 hrs on it, just sold it as no time to use it. He told us to come get some logs if we needed it. So we loaded up the tractor and got a load. He has plenty more to get... Some of what we sorted out. Mostly hickory, had a couple oak logs already on the trailer. Is this ash? I'm not familiar with it...I hope it is Pretty sure this is elm... The first load This is some of what he has left... Oak and hickory Hickory He has some beautiful pine saw logs 20-24' long Oka and hickory Oak... He told me to catch him on the weekend with the excavator there and he would sort this pile...
Wow! That's a nice friend to have! Lot of nice logs there and a heck of a load you got on the trailer!
Can’t get any better than that! No brush, crotches, uglies or smalls. Just cut your length and split!
WOW! When you said honey hole you werent kidding. Some very nice T. Jeff Veal quality wood there. Yup thats an ash too.
Not to sound like an echo in here, but WOW! That's a great score, gotta jump on that opportunity. A lot of that looks like it already has a jump on seasoning.
That'll keep you & Miss Carol busy for a minute Jeff. Great deal from a friend for sure! My question is why didn't ya buy the sawmill?
Wow... T.Jeff Veal ... Did you buy a lottery ticket too? .... That'll definitely help your firewood business, and not break the back while doing it.
Well, he said he was thinking about selling it, he posted it the next day on FB, sold in a few hrs...he got a little over 20K for it. We had a mill in the early 80's... Between my regular job, grass and firewood cutting, not much time left...already use lights at night...lol
