Some good stuff there Jason. Hopefully the weather (snow) holds for you to keep cutting. Ive only cut it twice and would love to cut more. I know im not a big oak lover but i really like splitting CO and sniffing of course.

Yeah, walking near the pile for several weeks is a pleasure. It smells wonderful.

This has been a great thread to read. Learned a lot about felling trees, safety equipment, and doing people favors by hauling off their unwanted wood!

Quickie load today. Going back tomorrow to run saws. Hopefully a couple days this week too. Feels like an “Indian summer” around here. Mid 50’s for a high.

Running out of room to stage!! So I loaded up all my uglies and chunks. Giving them to my boy to burn at his friends shop. They spend tons of time there tinkering on their ford trucks.

Pretty righteous load! With all this straight grained oak coming, I can afford to give away the scraps. :D I know they’ll appreciate it.

Very nice score man ! I always love when the trees are already down ! Honestly, I fell a bunch of tress a year but don’t really care to. I have a buddy that makes it look like an art form and to help him out will pay him to do it if they aren’t straight forward drops.
Two years ago was all standing dead oak off an 80 acre plot for me. Was a really good year for firewood for me. Splits nice too.

Best thing that could happen did. Couple guys were there working at the tower. One of them told me the combo to the gate lock.:thumbs:

Very nice! The more I look at the trees the more I get jealous, nice clean trees with almost no branches on them, you suck

How much you think you have brought home so far?

I honestly don't know. I haven't been keeping a running tally of loads. I can get a cord between the truck and trailer, sometimes a little more.

Now that I can get my truck back in there, I'll be able to pull right up to most of these trees. Should be able to get after it pretty good here the next couple days. Hoard is ON!!! :dex:

Absolutely. Tony won’t have to use the Bobcat to carry logs down to the gate. Really helps getting the wood out more efficiently.

This is the real estate the chunks freed up.

Hit the honey hole early this morning. Dropped two biggins. One fell in the direction of a live tree and took it out. Woops! I didn’t aim for it but, too late now.

Truck and trailer backed right up to the wood. :D

And stumps. As always, critiques welcome. My hinge wood got a little thin on the near side. My saw was cutting super fast with a fresh square ground chain.

Since I can back into the area, I’ll take all the limb wood for my parents. Dad went along and loaded as I cut.

Hey Wood Wolverine: what load is your trailer rated to carry?
