Real inventory problem, doesn’t bode well for long term economy.

I can't figure out why all the grief about this new variant here in the west when the South African health ministry call the symtoms very mild for a few days and your through.A local radio station recently reported that on the CDC website it said that during the height of the epidemic of the 500,000 reported deaths only 6 % died from covid. The other 94% died with covid so says their death certificates. Also during the early days of Covid The American Medical Journal stated that most of the deaths were caused by the misuse of ventilators. These facts aren't being reported by the media for some reason.Lastly my friend got a serious bout of the covid in the Phillipines. He said he couldn't sleep for four days because when you lay down all the symtoms hit you at once. The only relief he got was when he got up.He met some Phillipinos who told him to take a tablespoon of Baking Soda with half of real lemon ad hot water and drink before bedtime. He said the first time he drank it he slept like a baby and after several nights of doing it he was covid free. For some reason the media is not reporting this. This guy was also into weights and working out and he said he knew why this thing could kill people however this simple remedy could save many lives.

The new bronco's are going for a lot more than 10k higher than sticker for market adjustments. Some are $30,000 over sticker for price adjustments. Aka, dealer gouging. Mind you, the bronco starts at 30k. Some sh!tty dealers are trying this on reservation holders that put down a deposit right when the deposit system opened up. If you didn't get it in writing, what you'd pay, some bad dealers are trying this horrible practice.

In my area, it’s 10k over sticker. Just had that discussion with the salesman. Crazy!

Messicks has done a few videos on the subject. There are shortages but there is also very high sales from people and construction.

People having a hard time getting their usual mowing crew to do their lawn? They bought their own mower. People that moved to the country for rural living? They bought their first tractor.

More and more people got out of their "hire someone else" mindset and got to work them selves when contractors and other services were too busy.

I always thought war would be the catalyst for the kinds of things we're seeing now. Finally waking people up to our over reliance on global supply chains. Now I’m worried that another war will come on top of all our domestic issues. Once again we’ll be tangled up in some conflict for years with no clear objective. Or worse yet, war will finally come to our shores. As a divided country, the cards are stacked against us in that type of scenario.

I don't doubt the comment about ammunition manufactures one bit. Watch and see, when they get the price up to where they want it to be, we'll be flooded with ammunition.

I think a big component in the nation wide shopping spree is based on something we all have in us... even if only a little. Have you ever hit the grocery store 2-3 times and have the same item on your list be out of stock? Then you finally hit the store at the right time and you find 2 left on the shelf. Do you buy the one that you need or grab both because you might not find the item the next time you need it? I know what I'd do. Now scale that up. For example, you've been thinking of buying a CUT for your property for a couple years. You hear that they are becoming harder and harder to find and prices are creeping up. "Heck, I better get one now" is the mind set a lot of people would have. Now multiply that by all kinds of different items and spread that blanket nation wide. What I'm saying is, much of the country has that "last one on the shelf" mentality. Even large companies have this going on. If they normally buy 1000 of a certain component to make their product for the month but their last order took 3 months to come in, guess how many they are buying on their next order? The sense of urgency to get what you need before it's gone has spread from the cheapest item at the grocery store to the most expensive equipment on the market. And, only a market with a glut of product will cure the hoarding mentality. That day will come but it's going to be a while...

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Everybody's exacerbating the problem. But speaking for myself, I have yet to hear any news or see any cultural or economic changes that lead me to believe things AREN'T going to continue on this downward spiral. So although I'm not going too crazy stockpiling all sorts of goods, at the same time I have been doing enough of it in the last year and a half to know that I'm guilty of contributing to the problem. I mean really, did I truly need to buy a dozen packs of butane lighters? What am I going to do with all this paracord? Or bags of rice? The list goes on and on. I hope in the end it will all be unjustified but I'm not going to bank on that thought either.

Around here, pretty much any buildable lot has been sold, mostly to people moving from Chicago/Illinois. Our taxes are a lot less here, and many companies are relocating their offices to south eastern Wisconsin from Illinois. Neighbor on one of the backside lots to my house sold his house for way more $ than it should have. She didn't even balk at the price, paid asking. New owner is from Chicago, 1 person and a tiny dog in this 5 BR house. More than likely sold her Chicagoland house for quite a bit more $ than the new home cost. She hired a lawn service to mow, otherwise I guarantee she'd have bought a new 62" ztr for mowing a 1/2 acre lot. There's so many new homes going up on former farmland around here.

I can't like. We are experiencing the same around here. People are cashing in on property.
