12/12/21 Guess the weight

    I've cut and split green red oak to 16 inches or so and 70-75 pounds sounds reasonable for a two foot round.

    Fresh cut, 2 weeks ago, dead standing chestnut oak. Most of this load was the tree that got struck by lightning, I think 2 years ago.

    Dead standing I change my WAG to 50 pounds for a 24 inch X 12 inch round.

    That's probably a little light considering bark is still on and it's probably at 25% or so.

    OK. I'll stick to 70 lbs. Good chance Gambrel oak is denser than red or white oak, too.
