went out today the saw started ok, went to cut up the tree and it wont rev up to cut it,starts up fine could i have put to much oil in with the petrol.
Some years back I bought a nice lil 42cc saw for $20 that had the same problem...the brake was set....just something to doublecheck...
What saw is it ? How old is it ? Is the chain brake engaged? When it's running and squeeze the trigger, does it make and funny bad noises. There must be at least 20 reasons why a saw won't advance rpm. More information is needed.
im having the saw looked at, and iv bought another,i need to cut the trees up. thanks for all the replies.
the muffler is a fixed box, so cant get in side to clean,so just bought a new muffler box, will fit it and try the week end, thanks
just fitted it and seems to be ok,the old one looked like a lot of carb in it,the new one you can see right though it.
Heat it up red hot with a torch...the carbon will burn out and it can be used again if needed...we used to do this at the bike shop on small 2 stroke moped and dirt bike exhaust pipes that would get plugged up due to over zealous auto lube oilers...get the gunk burning inside by heating the right spot up to red hot, then once its smoking good, shut the acetylene off and just blow a lil pure oxygen into the pipe...that would really get things burning! You could actually watch the burn progress through the pipe by watching the orange glow advance down the pipe...man would it ever smoke! And if you held the torch just right, and got the oxygen flow just right, you could make a pipe organ out of it...she'd start a pretty loud low pitch whistle...Honda PA50 Moped exhausts were famous for this!
