Welcome Jose. Congrats on the new place and the hoarding ahead of you! As others have said, lots of great advice here.
Excellent question, Jose. I was wondering also if there’s a better way to get the large rounds into my trailer and into my car, and then onto my wood stack without throwing out my back. So far, I’ve been lucky, but it seems like a bad back is in my future if I keep humping these big rounds around. Here are some big rounds I picked up today.
Thanks for all the replies i will try the car ramps to help with the lifting dont have a pickup or log lifter. I have the splitter down close to the ground not on the stand so it is tough on the back bending over for long periods of time. Hopefully this weekend i can get out and get some more split and hopefully not injury my back.
I have the tractor and dump truck now but I started with a two wheeler dolly from harbor freight. The one with only one handle pointing back towards operator. That thing got a lot of scrounge miles! I would load a round on it, wheel it to the trailer or pickup, then lean it back on the bumper. That single handle made a perfect hook to hold it in place. Then I’d roll or slide the round up in the back of the vehicle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Take frequent breaks & put your hands on your hips & bend backwards tipping your head towards the sky. Take time to rip or cut firewood into smaller more manageable pieces. I know it’s a major pain & reduces your productivity but so is an injured back.
