I finally got out to cut a bit of wood. Mostly cleaning up some oak along driveway. I didn't cut a lot but enough so that I now know where every muscle and joint is in my body. Surprising that it did not bother my neck a lot but it surely did my back.

Looks like a great day there. Miserable drizzly day here. I refuse to go to the woodlot and get soaked.

Beautiful day here Dennis & I worked at wood as well as tweaking my back. I just got out of a lengthy hot Epsom salts bath & im feeling a bit better. Hope your back pain is short lived as well sir.

Good work. A little at a time adds up over the year.

Yep, I didn't last as long in the woods as I planned but I did make another run before I first was tempted to go home! Glad I did, found some more dead standing.

Nice here, too. Dug for some potatoes that I grew earlier in the year and didn't even find a tiny one.
    Cleaned out gutters yesterday.
I should do leaves before it rains, but sometimes when it rains it also blows and with a little luck they'll all blow away.

I feel your pain. Been a rough year (in a lot of ways) and I'm moving a lot slower so everything is behind schedule. I finally moved the last two and a half cords of seasoned splits into the shed today that I wanted in there before the heavy snow shows up. Took twelve trailer loads and about six and a half hours. I'm sure by later this evening I'll be in a boatload of pain but it had to get done.

The splits in the shed have been drying for 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 years (no oak). I like being able to access the shed from front and back so I don't have to worry about rotating the old stock at the end of the burning season. There are seven cords in the shed so it should last. I've already burned about 3/4 cord, the average I use is 4-5 cord, and the most I ever used was just over seven cords.

Although my neck took it fairly well, it is terrible now.

Thought I might cut more today but with 45 mph wind, I'll probably wait.

It looks like you had a nice day for cutting wood, it has been wet around here lately so not much going on.
