Amazing that people this creative and entertaining are tormented to this point. He certainly was a funny, funny man. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/11/robin-williams-dead-dies_n_5670050.html
I didn't agree with Robin Williams on his political views but he was a wonderful person and philanthropist. I wasn't crazy about his movies but he was a very funny man. Tragic that his demons got the better of him......RIP Robin.....
His last tweet was a message to his daughter. Zelda's 25th birthday was on July 31st. http://instagram.com/p/rIlM1LKuwr/ Breaks my heart.
Dear husband happened to see a home video that a friend had in the early 80's. They were on fishing outing, docked on an island to cook lunch. Robin Williams stayed in the boat, and ratteled gibberish for a very long time. Seems the poor guy was tormented for too many years.
Very sad. You would think the world was his oyster... On a personal note, I have been down the path of what is called "Depression". (More like supression) Gotten to the point of wanting to pull the trigger. Even though my ill mind was telling me I was doing everyone a big favor by offing myself, the thought occurred (I believe it was divine inspiration, here) that a lot of folks would be left resentful and confused, and full of pain and shame for my actions. Luckily for me, I found later that there was light at the end of that dark, dark tunnel--and I am of the opinion that I am here for a reason, whether I know what it is or not. Now I try to do the best I can, and help another fellow creature when I can.
You hit the nail in the head, Firebroad!! Most people I have known that go through bad depression and attempted/ committed suicide do not have God in their lives......very very sad and lonely to be in that situation without the Lord to guide you. I'm very glad you found that light in the tunnel as we wouldn't be the same without you here! We ALL have a direct effect on MANY people around us, whether we know it or not. Our families and friends, though we may not always see it, depend on us.......We're all here for a reason!!
I agree, he was a tremendous talent...to go from Mork & Mindy to improv to Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society. Shame he felt he couldn't go on, but he chose a permanent solution to a temporary problem. RIP.
