I have never properly replaced a handle on a splitting maul, and mine finally broke.

I have the Stihl branded ox head splitting maul. Any suggestions as to where to buy a replacement and how to take out the old handle and replace with new?

    Thanks.

Ok I am not sure what kind of handle is in that but usually I just drill holes through it and drive the broken stub out as to handle I am lucky enough to have a real hardware store near me that carry handles but you should be able to find at a farm store . I prefer wood handles but some like the fiberglass one's JB

Mine has the metal sleeve right below the head to protect from over strikes.

This might be the one that you need?

Products - Stihl Pro Maul Handle

I can see it for collection only at a number of stores. I can't see a company that will ship it. But at least you now have the part number.
