Good morning! 34F now and holding pretty steady today. Got another Christmas tree up yesterday, did a bit of shopping and made 2 more portable firewood racks from pallets. Heading to church in a bit. May cut a little wood after my nap this afternoon. Have a God day!

Morning all. Got up early and went out to the shop to get stove going and work some. Came in for some eggs and heading back out. Trying not to make my Knee mad so I'm going easy. I also no I need to start eating better and at the very least cut way back on my smoking. Haven't felt good for a long time but now I'm trying to make some changes. The kitten is doing well but she sleeps allot and is not into stuff yet. I will talk to the vet when I bring her to get a shot this coming week. Hope you all are having a great Sunday.

 

Morning all. Dark and rainy this morning. After breakfast out, we will pack up the RV and head home. Hopefully the rain will let up so driving isn't too bad. Kind of fun being back in the RV. Working tomorrow so we can't stay any longer. Funerals are sad but it was a chance to see family that we haven't seen a long time. Our youngest daughter was there and we haven't seen her is 20 months. Fortunately the girls got back home without too much weather delays. I hope the same for us.

Morning all. Mid 20s and light snow. I still got to debone the turkey legs. Once that is done, turkey will be vacuum sealed for the freezer.

Good Morning. My wife and I rolled in from the cabin about an hour ago. Got stuff put away and stacked the firewood I brought home. We left at 5:40 AM.

I always like to get in a little firewood work when I am there and weather permits. Here is some of our fresh cut birch wood we stacked after our hike yesterday.

I think you mentioned your cabin is on the North Shore area correct?

Hi Schlot. We are up past Grand Marias, but yes in general we are located in what is referred to as the “North Shore” of Minnesota. We used to live there, and our children were born there. We kept 12 acres of our original homestead and built a cabin in 2000.

 

You're a lucky man.

Love the North Shore. Grand Maria has such a pretty harbor. Spent lots of time from Duluth on up, Split Rock for the Fitz memorial was something to remember. Heck I even remember 61 before tunnels.

Cloudy and cold to start. It's nice to have a decent bed of coals in the morning.

I hope to move some wood to the deck. Then, run a few errands.

Good morning everyone! Kinda glad it's Monday again. I've got lots to keep me busy today.
I had a great time with my grandson yesterday. He really wants to be helpful. He's got a great future around this place!

After moving wood, I decided to swap out the lawnmower with the snowblower. Mission accomplished.


The lawnmower is in the garage (my seasonal storage shed) running dry, filling the place up with carbon monoxide. Culling the rodent herd.

Good morning y'all. Had to work yesterday to finish the weekend, working 7AM-7PM today on my off day, filling in for operator on vacation, nice to make a little more OT. Of course, it's a blue sky, cool day, would have been nice to be cutting wood. We still have a couple orders to fill. Maybe we can start on that tomorrow.
I think putting up the CHRISTmas tree is going to happen this evening.
