Delivered cord number 200 yesterday. Field is starting to look empty. Still have another 4 weeks or so before I'm sold out.

The year is over…the tally is in. Today I deliver my last 3 cords of the season. I estimated I had 265-270 cords this year and I’m usually a little under on my estimates so I was hoping I hit 275 but the official count is 265 cords.

I don’t believe that will be in the cards…nor do I want it to be. Trying to get this all delivered on weekends darn near killed me this fall!

An empty field (well empty of splits and rounds) makes me happy. Probably have 80-90 cords of logs ready for when I am.

A pleasant sight and a sad sight at the same time. I like empty racks as it makes room for new inventory. Really wish i had the same as id hoard a lot more and itd make life a little easier.

So I crunched some delivery numbers and came up with this:
    1st delivery August 18
    Last delivery November 28
    4,550 miles driven making deliveries
$1,650 in gas during that time
Comes out to 17.17 miles round trip per cord delivered and $6.23 in gas for each cord delivered.

Interesting number surprised your average delivery is 8.6 miles away seems very close

I live in south Jersey. My moms place where I keep the wood is in the woods but it’s not far from the suburbs.

The burbs are close! And I basically refuse to deliver more than 15 miles away.

Do you have some people picking up or is delivery part of the deal?
