Uh yeah. That's a lot of $ for heat. Granted that's electric on there too, but wow! I'm in southeastern WI, near lake Michigan, so probably not much different weather conditions. We have a gas water heater, gas clothes dryer, the non high efficiency furnace, and a gas cook stove/ range. Our natural gas bill unless it's down to single digits is usually right at the minimum charge of $9 a month. It certainly wasn't that way before I put in the quadrafire 4100i insert. In the last 5 years or so since I put this in the open fireplace's spot, I know I've saved thousands of dollars. Our house is a 1600 sq ft open concept ranch. Since I installed the insert, we put a chunk of change into the house that helped efficiency ( insulated garage door, new windows, new siding and insulation with double tyvek wrap, and roof with more/ proper soffit vents). These things have helped as well.

I had to convince my wife that the bay window stove would provide the nice light that the open fireplace did. I knew that I'd definitely hear about it if it wasn't up to her expectations.:heidi:

I convinced her. She's super happy with it.

    Here it is. 20201225_223453.jpg Screenshot_2018-12-02-19-38-11.png 20191005_183324.jpg

I like the bay window configuration on your insert. Gets it out in the room a bit.

Yeah, that was a big factor in this insert. I lucked out on this stove. Found it on craigslist for a smokin' deal. Had to remove it from a house that was being demo'd to put up a gas station about an hour south of me. $250, yes, two hundred fifty bucks. Barely used, like new with a $400 SS liner and chimney kit along with it. It's been probably my greatest "You Suck!" Award I've earned.

Lol, it's good beer, but you might be able to find a similar lager that is even a little smoother to drink than yuengling, and it's definitely less expensive. Point Lager, from Stevens Point Brewery in Wisconsin. I brought this from out East in that picture. The furthest West you can get yuengling is Indiana. That will change soon as they are expanding. Delays with , you know, everything, in the last year or so it's probably the only reason you can't buy it East of Indiana right now.

That's Hayden and Badger from last year at Christmas time. RIP Badger. All summer at the lake this year, people were like "where's Badger?" Anyone that met that dog would've never thought that he'd get cancer and be gone in 7 months. He was a the prototypical Labrador retrieving machine. He would retrieve, All. Day. Long.
