Maybe some of that equipment is still waiting to be unloaded?
But then there’s the point made about that mag. factory/ foundry getting shut down… but of course, I don’t search the net for news pieces like that.

It's a real thing. Most magnesium comes from China and they have hit their quota for the year.

"Magnesium: Where It Comes From And Why We’re Running Out | Hackaday" Magnesium: Where It Comes From And Why We’re Running Out

This should just be another issue like all the rest of the supply chain is dealing with now

Yep, you got me. First vid I saw was a FedEx driver that delivered a package, jumping over the sidewalk multiple times. Then the homeowner showed a sign that said stay on the grass...
Next one was a dog being saved from crocodiles. Then I gave up.

It was just someone at a shop saying that she has no leaf blowers on hand because the magnesium isn't available. Then she said to buy the products made from aluminum and magnesium, while you still can.

Ah hah! I scrolled up one and saw the right vid. For some reason it was moving to the next one right away.
We've become so dependent on chynah, now this kind of thing does not surprise me at all. Wish it would start a change.

All I get is a (possibly) never ending list of tik-tok style videos to click on.
Not one of them looks like something I would watch.
The first or top one appears to be effed up.
Maybe it doesn't work right in chrome.

Worked for me, thats why i posted it.

I can't imagine chyna "filling their quota" and shutting down the magnesium factory. They never play by the rules any other time.

It's actually not a quota on the product, but a cap on energy use. Many places hit that cap in September/October and had to shut down until the beginning of the year. My work place has gotten many force majeures for some "chemical" products that we use because of this issue.
