The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its official predictions for winter 2021 to 2022, dubbing the upcoming months "a season of shivers." adding "This coming winter could well be one of the longest and coldest that we've seen in years. Much of the country will experience a winter "punctuated by positively bone-chilling, below-average temperatures.

For 230 years, the Almanac has been helping readers to prepare for winter’s worst with its 80 percent–accurate weather forecasts. Time will tell....

Cold & dry for Iowa, awesome. The Pollyanna in my head is saying that means lots of frost & minimal mud so the firewood hoarding should be good.

The Old Farmer's Almanac website states: "For 230 years, the Almanac has been helping readers to prepare for winter’s worst with its 80 percent–accurate weather forecasts". Their percent number seems kind of high to me... time will tell:sherlock:

I hope I'm mild/snowy this year, but WOW it's been so warm & dry this far. Trees are budding in some parts of the state  I'll be happy to never see -37* (-65-85* w windchill) ever again.

On one of our last bike rides a month or so ago, 99 noticed some lupines alongside the road that were blooming!

It’s dates range from December 20 to March 15 with the potential for snow and cold temps. Also the best date to castrate goats is the second week of April due to the higher chances of warmer temperatures. Mostly just a publication of what we already know what the vague weather forecast will be and nothing precise.
