    Cottonwood Id leave it unless you were really in need of wood or it was super close. Next door neighbor had a dead one taken down and bucked a few years ago so all I had to do was split and stack it.

    :confused::emb: Darn it!! It be good for early fall and spring to take the chill out of the house when you don't need a full blown fire.

    Don’t want to grab some of the more convenient pieces to at least try? Plenty members here have burned mountains of it. I’m sure it’ll be ready to burn by fall next year, *possibly* even spring.

    One roadside log last year which ended up being a couple stove loads worth. Ended up mixing it a little at a time with other species. I would grab more again in small quantities.
