Hey cottenwood is great for shoulder season , nothing wrong with that , I like it during shoulder season
Yep, I agree. But here in my part of the Dakotas, we can get slammed one week then it's warm the next week. So I'm not going to keep the cottonwood until next fall. Just keep burning what I've got, until we really need it.
Well you have another shoulder season in the spring you can use it then or not , there is always more than one way to do it
I burned cottonwood almost exclusively 1 winter in Glennallen. We had plenty of 45 to 55 below ambient that winter. Cottonwood did fine. Made a good coal. Or at least, much better than spruce does.
Had a productive day today. Considering the temps. It got up to 13 below today. . Down to 24 underneath at the moment. Getting ready to load the stove for the night. I think I will use rounds of Aspen tonight.
