We had a good rain/wind storm come through yesterday.

I think there's a driveway around here somewhere.

Not exactly nice color but striking (to me) I found this chestnut oak leaf in my yard just now and I’m baffled as to where it came from. The nearest grove of these trees I know of are almost a mile away as the crow flies. To get there you have to drive a couple thousand feet down my steep hill, across a flat open valley, then up a steep ridge into another series of hills. Weird. Maybe it blew out of the back of someone’s truck, but I’ll never know. I do have a bunch of chestnut oak acorns in pots for stratification right now, so if all goes well, in another year I’ll have my own chestnut oak trees.

Cool looking leaf. I've never seen one before.
