Grabbed some large diameter logs from treelawns in the village. Cut, limbed and hauled to a graveled dump area by a tree service. None of my pics saved and now it's dark.:(

I went across the feed mill scales after I was loaded. Scaled at 23k. I didn't weigh it empty since the scales were busy with farmers bringing in corn. The tractor (Kubota MX5100 with rim guard and rear wheel weights weighs around 6k w/loader mounted. The H&S running gear rated at 16,000 lbs weights around 2200.

The logs are roughly 20"+ in dia. Lots of hard maple, quite a bit of Ash and a couple red maple that area smaller.

How many, roughly, cords do you think I scored today? Not very sappy, unlike the stuff they cut in the spring.

    Thanks in advance.

ETA: running gear in question, however, not the load from tonight.

Four cord ? Just a guess , the ash will be about 3200 lb per cord the sugar will be a little heavier

I'm going to attempt to keep track of how many 330 gallon totes we fill. Each tote is about 1/3 cord. It might be awhile, I want to grab some other larger logs first. I'll likely cut and split into totes up at the village property for that.

Looking at the reference chart in the FHC resource area id say around four cords. Im not sure if the weights listed are for fresh cut green or dried to 20% MC.

4200 lbs / cord of green ash, and almost 4700 lbs/ cord of green sugar.

When I built my wood shed, I figured 20,000 lbs per each 5 cord bay. That was mixed hardwood, but a lot of ash.

So, you think something on the order of 3 cords?

    I would guess a bit more 3 1/2 to 4 total. That's a nice haul.

Cut a few big rounds, grabbing lunch and then heading up with new rigged tong mount for forks.

Only 4 totes this afternoon. I hate tht it gets dark so soon! Brought the splitter at JD 870 home. Will run the 4 totes across the scales after having dinner and my wife is able to follow me home. It will be full dark at that point. 20211110_163019.jpg

    Roughly 1-1/3 cord

15,280 gross. I need to weigh that tractor and trailer together, I don't think the weight for the running gear online is correct at 2,200. Or, maybe the 6k on my tractor is what I weighed in at the fair without the loader frame. This load is a mix of sugar maple and I think, red maple. Maybe one small black locust log. 20211110_185048.jpg

ETA: I think I'm going by the weight w/o the loader. Add 1150 for the frame and 220 for the forks and it seems more realistic. I may also, be leaving off the rear mount wheel weights. I need to get a real weigh!
