A little under 2 cord of 4 year seasoned ash safely under the cover of the porch. Seasoned 3 years in the stacks and a year in the woodshed, I'll reload in February, depending on the severity of the winter.

Looks good. But I would prefer it didn't snow. Rather just deal with the cold .

I'm right there with you on that. Thankfully, we don't get a lot of it here.

Dang! Ash aged that long should be under 10%.

I live by the creed that the best device for determining the moisture content of firewood is a multi-year calendar!

Nice work! I had two big rows of dry wood stacked neatly next to my house a couple of years ago. Randomly, my home owner’s insurance contacted me and made me move it 30 feet from the house. Not sure how they caught wind of it. I never even saw them come by to look at it. I think the insurance companies think that because it’s called “fire” wood, it’s going to spontaneously combust or something.

FIFY, although 4 years in the stacks is a great way to be fairly certain it's dry.

Only 1 way to know for certain.;)

My brotber-in-law worked as a bartender at Jay years ago. I ask him why there were no guard rails on the road up. He said wait until winter. I did; 20'snow walls during the winter. You weren't going off the edge in the winter!

Brother was a valet there for couple years after his divorce..
Hilarious stories about $80,000 rigs with All seasons tires that had too many miles on them.
And the electric vehicle crowd, Jay did put in some chargers for them. But try to explain to city people, that at 20 below, if you didn’t have theheat on your brearg was going to freeze on the inside of the windshield and you weren’t going to make it. But the range wasn’t quite enough at the temperature to get another charging station with heat:picard:

Lookin good, Ralphie Boy! I gotta haul a couple weeks' worth into the garage stoop tomorrow, I'm tired of lugging totes full every evening from the mega-stack up to the house....

We've been burning nightly fires for a week and a half now....

    Looking good RB!

We brought a good portion of our winter firewood in recently. Definitely nice having it easily accessible when its negative temps and snow on the ground!

What’s the black stuff running down the wall out of the thimble?
