I hate to waste wood so I collect all my shorts, uglies, and other firewood unsuitable for stacking each year and it goes into the shop stove first. Even the Christmas tree goes in. It’s not as nice as firewood but it works. This is my last load of the 2021/2022 season so after this we’re burning the good stuff!
they were remnants of the last log load I processed in June so they’ve just had one summer which is more than most give Doug fir to season. Plus they’re small and going in the noncat I am okay with semi seasoned.
Good plan, Highbeam. We burn the chunky monkeys first because they’re on top of the stacks. Usually get about 9 days burning out of ‘em.
pretty sure that cart came from harbor freight. It’s really pretty awesome. The tires went flat several years ago and I’m too lazy/cheap to replace the tubes so I just roll it on flat tires. It’s easy to move a lot of wood and since it is so tall it takes up little floor space. Way better than using a wheelbarrow and a permanent rack since that would mean I need to handle the wood one more time from the wheelbarrow to the rack and this cart holds like 2 wheelbarrow loads.
Just take the tires off...very low rolling resistance on the concrete floor then! And Amish approved!
I spent an excessive amount of time steel troweling and then clear coating that slab. I don’t want to scratch it up. Inner tubes are cheap, I really should just replace them.
