I have put wood in my garage and in the summer my garage gets stiffling hot....the wood dried much quicker.
Should not be a problem with dead and barkless elm. I can really look nice in the stacks. The only time it will be a problem is if powder post beetles get in and then will have some dust, which is easy to clean off before taking indoors. That customer sounds like a family i bought a stove from one time. I bought a stove from them because the lady of the house did not like anything that would cause some cleaning. They offered me the stove for about 1/3 what they paid and it looked as if it had been burned maybe 2 times. Yes, we had to remove shoes to go in and take the stove but then the lady got disturbed when we had to set the stove down to put shoes back on before going out of the house. Wow. btw, there was white carpeting all through that house. Got the stove cheap though.
If you take your shoes off in my house, you'll get dirty socks... lol My house is "lived" in. It's not a shrine...
I had a customer who bought a cord give me some rounds she couldnt burn that she stored in her garage. I split and most were dry enough to burn. Dont know how long they were there though.
I'm guessing what you delivered (bulk) was a fair amount less expensive than bundles. So which do they want to buy? Premium wood (bundle quality) at an economy price isn't how this works. Even the splits I stack in IBC totes and top cover end up a little dirty after several months (although certainly cleaner than big stacks on pallets). If YOU have a place to store indoors and run a fan, it would probably work but then you're back to probably charging more (if for no other reason, because your electric bill will go up). Do you sort the splits so only barkless wood goes in bundles? That's what I'm starting to do now. So after seasoning, there's no bark residue so it should be a bit cleaner overall.
Alright Brad. I have an answer for your clients wifes concerns. You can rig up something like this. With enough angle the splits will travel through to the other side. You could even add a water rinse. Buzzsaw Brads Boutique Farwood...
Completely agree same here, we also have four German shepherds that live in the house so your socks are going to get fuzzy too
Dries plenty fast enough in both locations. Why would I cover a pile and keep the summer sun off of it?
Could blast each piece of no bark wood with compressed air, or pressure wash and then compressed air before running through a tumbler. Brads artisanal no mess guaranteed wood. It may be expensive, but at least your wife won’t have something else to beech about.
You forgot one word... Brads artisanal no mess guaranteed ORGANIC wood. It may be expensive, but at least your wife won’t have something else to beech about.
could you remind me where that post is? I wanted to send it to the kid I bought some wood from recently.
