Put the 372XP I bought a couple of weeks ago in wood for the first time today. This saw sat for 13 years and had never cut anything till today!:D

So I made a video for your viewing enjoyment.

While I was at it I ran the dual port muffler MS440as well for giggles.

    :dex: Nice videos!! :dex:

And that 372xp is far from broke in. Only gonna get better. The 440 beat it, but only by a little (hundredths of a second)

    372xp
    3.7
    4.0
    3.6

    440
    3.5
    3.4
    3.5

Well done. Nice running saws. Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you @DexterDay , only thing I will say is that I thought I had sharpened the chain on the 440 after cutting last weekend, but I had not and that probably slowed it down a touch. I didn't look till after I had made the videos.

I agree. They sound stout. Both of them!!

To have a dull chain? That saw is ripping through that wood. If you do ever want to get rid of it? Please let me know. ;) That is a great running saw.

You are lucky to have gotten one of those 665's. That is a good looking, sounding, and running saw. I thought about them in passing, now I am kicking myself from those videos you have posted. :dex:

If you looked and tried hard enough? You may be able to find one? If you are serious about it.

Those saws will not be back around. And for an all stock saw? They are Super Runners!! :dex:

That is one saw that would take a lot to pry out of my hands.

All these videos make me want to go cut some wood.:saw:

Next time put the dull chain on the 372. Can't have it beating the 440!

Perhaps, perhaps not, I am trying to make up my mind. I have a NIB Solo 665 with Randy for porting and Randy and Steven both have a NIB one, Randy may decide to part with his.

I also have a 665 jug with Randy as a back up ( in case he makes a mistake or has more than one idea). Once the ported one comes back I may send it off to Kevin (Cut4Fun) or Dexter to run against the stock saws in the 65cc stock competition.

I still have a NIB one in the shop and have located a couple top ends in Germany for it so might do some messing about with it after speaking to Shep, NCFarmboy. Perhaps turn it into something a little different. Remember that AClarke and Adam32 also have a couple they are going to build.

lastly, I have a NOS stroked Solo crank in stock, so am in the market for a clean (Bryanr2, Dexter or Jon1270 CLEAN) 6400/6401 or 7900/7901 to build a toy, perhaps an 81cc toy! Was going to use the red top 7900 that HittinSteel has but it went to a better place!

    Let me know.

I don't know your time frame on a decision, but just note that I will be on a trip from Fri. till Sept. 2nd and may not be available due to high country trout fishing and such.

I will be getting to visit an old friend as well, a certain 028 Super I let go last year. ;)
