HuskyMatt, myself and another friend Mark, spent the afternoon out the farm on the foothills of Mount Beckworth cutting some wood.

We had a bad storm Friday morning that knocked down some trees.

The cattle came to check out what was happening.

HuskyMatt wanted this branch down for a while but because it was dead I was worried about it barber chairing!

I cut partly through the branch and used winches to bring it down.

I also dropped a smaller tree for Matt.

Great pics mate and thanks for helping clean up the farm. Look forward to more wood cutting in the morning with the possibility of a hangover lol

Looks like that was some serious wind! Cattle seemed to be curious. All in all, good job and looks like it turned out well.

Thanks for the pics leoht and HuskyMatt, looks like a great time! Things are looking pretty green there for now.... I always enjoy yalls pictures of Oz, brings back great memories. If only you were drinking VB, MB, Tooeys (sp?) Or Bundy....

Not used to someone camping on a firewood trip! And I'm loving that little camping stove, looks like a handy little rig. Know the name of it by chance?

True, but I'm talking about a "normal firewood cutting event"!

I should say this… the only normal you witness at an FHC GTG is meeting up with like minded folks having a good and (mostly) safe time, helping out the host with wood needs (to be used onsite or for local charity as was the case with walt ’s GTG), fellowship, and the after hours around the fire pit (if yinz can stay up later)…
The abnormal thing about an FHC GTG is ironically all of the above. :D
    :handshake:

The insane thing about an FHC GTG is the sheer amount of saws that show up per person to cut firewood. :thumbs:
