I do admit I looked at the snow plow a couple days ago but it can wait. I don't expect to have to use it soon and if this winter is like what we've had for the past several years it won't get much use at all.

Waiting on first light to see how big the branches are that fell during the night.
At least the ones near the house.
Punky wet heavy Oak branches sometimes sound like they were huge when they fall.

I like the combo of a loader mounted plow and a rear snow blower, you can really push the banks back with the plow on the loader, and use the blower for the middle of the parking areas, just gotta be careful not to tweak the loader.

Only had the back up blower for one storm before I switched to the front mount. My neck and back could not tolerate that constant turning around to watch where I was going. Once you use a front mount you will never look at a back up again. My loader is usually off for the winter. The plow is by far the fastest and best way to move snow. It is a 60" with power angle. Change over from front blower to plow takes only a few minutes with Kubota's K-connect mount system. I love the way they have engineered this tractor. This will be my fourth winter using it.

I had to replace the front) mid PTO clutch belts on my orange tractor, of a different brand today, my ariens GT. I found a way to hold the belt tensioner open while I change the belts. I used a snowmobile cover strap, fed that into a ratchet and put the cover strap end with the hook into the tensioner, then around the front tire, and onto the mower deck. That solved most of the pain of changing PTO belts. :). The other issue is that there's barely any room with the muffler and grill in the way, but having a way to get the tensioner from complicating things is a big deal.

I finished my lawn mowing that I started last evening before the belt broke. I probably will have to mow 1 more time before I take off the mower deck.
I then had just enough time to drain the water from my ski boat engine and I winterized it using 2 gallons of RV antifreeze as I do every year. Next I'll need to take the boat to the storage shed I have been taking it to due winter storage.

Again, thanks to all who wished us a happy birthday.

I've posted on PM and another place on the forum but thought maybe I should post here too. As many know, I got a new deer blind for my birthday (Judy wanted me to get it).

Then yesterday morning I shot a buck. Maybe 2 minutes later I received a call from a friend who hunts across the road from me. Seems he shot a buck and needed some help finding it (this happens most years with him). So I got on atv and headed over to help. It didn't take too long before we found it. After taking care of it and loading it into his truck we headed back to my place to find mine. It took a little time at first and surprised me how little blood we found but I knew it was a good hit, or at least thought it was. Sure enough after a long search we started finding lots of blood and then the buck. It was a happy day.

First is Jimmy's buck. It was a young one and had no brow tines but showed signs of a piebald. You can see some of the white hair in the second picture.

Then we found mine and I took the tractor back to get it because he was heavy.

I used a fixed blade rather than an expandable and was happy with the results. It was a 150 grain head on a carbon arrow. We took him to a processor we know. I gave instructions to package the backstraps and tenderloin and to give those to a good friend. The rest will be made into venison sticks (3 different flavors).

The friend who gets that meat owns 70 acres next to us and is a really nice gut. He does have a small cabin on that land and lets us use it during our GTG. We also cut a big oak off his place a couple years ago. You can see the cabin in this picture along with a few of the guys.

My boss just showed us pics of a little 3 yo piebald on their property that he is going the "save" for his kids to get (hopefully) he has his eyes on a nice 5 yo buck for himself.
    Nice stab Dennis!
