I'll take things that don't effect me anymore for $500, Alex. U.S. propane market prepares for ‘Armageddon’ amid price spikes and supply shortages | WHNT.com Going to suck for a lot of people around here with a cold winter forecast, and a bumper crop catching rain meaning the grain dryers running overtime. Glad the propane furnace is relegated to backup duty.
Yeah...but in years past the economy wasn't already stirred into a complete cluster like it is now...I think this one is real...wouldn't want to be reliant on LP heat, especially this year.
Rack price is up over 250% from this time last year. Good thing most all companies are on contract pricing now…. Until the suppliers rip up the contracts.
Anyone that is buying from Amerigas, Suburban propane, Or any other National brand needs to call local…. Their prices are way over inflated !!
I pre buy 600 gallons at a set price. Over that amount, price goes to market price. However, I have a pellet stove with pellets stored away, and I have a mini split that is very economical to operate. Seems so excessive to have three heating systems, but it allows me to go to anyone that offers me the convenience and comfort level I want.
This past weekend I saw someone with a face cord (1/3 cord) by the roadside.. a sign on it listed $120. I laughed, but if they can sell it at that price, good for them.
I don't think its the exporting that is the problem as much as the importing...or the lack of in country production (compared to the previous 3-4 years) Biden continues his anti-U.S. oil and gas push while crude demand rises Big Oil blasts Biden for turning to OPEC for more crude - CNN
I'm glad the only propane tanks I have to worry about are the ones for my gas grill. Of course that's short-sighted thinking, and that inevitably these kinds of things have a ripple effect throughout the entire economy. The spiral continues...
Before I bought this place, I got in with on a purchase where a group of customers were given a discount price on LP. Minimum of 200 gal IIRC. The LP was offered at .97 a gal.....I think it was about a .40 discount, not sure. No idea what it's going for now.
I checked my tank yesterday and am still at 75% on 500 gallons. I had it filled about 14 months ago. This summer I ran the OWB about every other day to make DHW and save run time on my propane water heater...I'd say it worked pretty good. $50 for the year on hot water and gas cook top is pretty not bad.
We have propane hot water and stove cooktop. We don't used alot of propane, so the price per gallon is higher than it might be. Fuel oil furnace for whenever the wood stove isn't lit. We had the 275gal oil tank filled last fall. First time in 4yrs!
Propane here for high efficiency 2 stage furnace for the house (fringe seasons heat), Small furnace in garage and lastly the Generac generator. Was locked in at .599/ltr. last year, locked in at .699 this year Burnt 1850 ltr. last year. (.699 = $2.54 for U.S. gallon)
