How about I straighten this out?

Poulan was brought into the Husqvarna family years ago while both companies were owned by Electrolux. Neither brand is owned by ELux anymore. It's all Husqvarna Outdoor Power now. Some of the entry level saws were orange Poulans. These days, if the model number is 2xx, (235 etc) it's a Poulan. 4xx (435,445,455 Rancher) is a homeowner or farm grade saw. 5xx (545, 555, 570) is at least a semi-pro, 5xxXP (550XP, 562XP, 576XP) is a top shelf pro model. There are some older models that are still sold, namely the 372XP, 390XP?, 395XP and the 3120XP that do not follow the new naming rules but as long as it says XP after the model number, it's a pro saw.

As I understand it, E-lux is out of the picture these days. The Huska-Poula-Pioneer-Partne-Redmax beast holds the paper on the best technology going. Even if they can't seem to design a sturdy choke lever. ;)

Edit: Mastermech cleared it up while I was typin with my sticky BBQ laden fingers... Lol.

If it says Husqvarna on it, it's a Husqvarna. ;) There are only two small saws that share a design with Poulan. You can get real Husqvarnas at Lowes, AND the dealers. The dealers of course offer many more models including the pro saws that you cannot buy at Lowes.

About Jonsered.... All of the Jred models have a Husqvarna counterpart. Same saw, different color and front handle for the most part. There are JRed versions of the pro saws as well. Tractor Supply even carries good saws like the 2166 that are far above and beyond anything you could buy at Lowes or HD.

JRed is just like Husqvarna and Stihl in that they offer a complete line of saws from the sub-$200 homeowner saws all the way up to $1000 professional machines.

I know. What I stated, was I got the extra warranty and DIDNT have to buy any oil, because of the relationship I have with my dealer. And also, the sheer amount of equipment I have bought from him. He knows I don't use their oil (much). I mainly run Bel-Ray or Amsoil (thanks Buddy!! ;))

Also, a warranty means pretty much nothing to me. Before most saws hit the 5th tank? They have been sent out for porting.

And Husqvarna sells mainly Husq stuff. Only the smallest models are still made by both. And Jonsered is the same way (exactly the same. Just Red).
