Neighbor stopped by yesterday afternoon. His 365 just died in the cut and wouldn’t run after unless on the throttle. And at that it would bog on high. Pressure tested fuel line and carb together and both held, although fuel line is ready to be replaced and filter too. Replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the air filter. And she runs pretty good. Looking for a rebuild kit for a ZAMA 79A if anyone know that conversion from a C something.
it is. I don’t see many zama and it took me a bit to realize I needed to look on both side of the body to get the whole model number. RB60 kit Thanks
grabbed the oem Pretty sure it had the tan I’m done with AM kits if I can help it. I have better luck with AM carbs than kits
I’ve got this decent 041. Idles like it has an air leak and turns it does Holds pressure ok but fails on vacuum only time I’ve seen seal springs on the outboard side is when a seal has been installed backwards. anyone know if this oem install normal?
Replacements were in the mailbox. Lacking opinion to the contrary, I’m going with the one in there are backwards.
looking at the bottom picture again, I can see that after I drive the worm gear all the way back in, the seal rides over the top of the worm gear. That wood be a leak
I gots no room on the bench. On the floor it is!!! 10 Huskys (huskihl you reading this?? ) and a few are donors but I was basically given about 10 seconds of what's-wrong-with-this-one and lucky for me I recorded it. Helping out my tree guy. Right now it's the 545 that won't run and a 372xp that is spilling oil all over the place. 372xp Compression release removed 20" bar. Feels like it got compression. Doesn't run 372xp Don't know anything about it. Carb issue maybe. Dirtier one 372xp Donor no bar. 372xp frozen rope and maybe cylinder too no bar. 372xp Flywheel fins breaking off no bar. Donor 242 Thruster sticker no bar. Piston/cylinder issues. 242 Carb issue no bar. 346xp Good compression. Bar with cover dirty as hell. Has compression release
Pretty much how all huskies end up when commercially used. Just kidding my Husky bro’s. I couldn’t resist the hanging curve ball.
Ask him what he wants out of those 372s. Meaning, if he has an expectation that you can get one or two runners out of the lot, that’s fair. If he’s expecting ‘em all to run for a job next month… well… that’s tough. I’m assuming he understands what goes into saw repair and the potential expense. Keep track of the parts you order and give him updates of what each saw may need. It could be a good relationship for ya.
Turns out this seal had two springs. In inner and and outer. New to me New one has one. Fits snug, had to get it to sit with a dowel and hammer taps. Greased it, rebuild the worm gear into it. Wouldn’t build pressure! Put the spark plug back in! Saw hold a solid 10 both vacuum and pressure and turning crank.
Thanks. He was shocked at how quickly I fixed the (3) 193/194s swapping out the broken handles and checking basic stuff like the plugs, the sprockets, and doing all the little things that one should do (lubing needle bearings, cleaning spark arrestor, tightening bolts all over the place) and he clearly stated that there's no rush. These saws have been sitting on the sidelines (I think for years) doing nothing because he hasn't had the time to do it himself and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for the local lawn/mower shops to do it either. This is the tree guy that's delivered like 35-40 cord of wood (maybe more I stopped keeping track of that!) to me no charge and we help each other out and I think we can build on that relationship so it's beneficial to everyone. And yes, keeping track is hard but necessary and I will do my best.
