Got the ash tree all cut up and hauled away, ready to split once I bring the splitter home. I also planted the Kwanzan cherry tree in the ground today. All trees and shrubs we bought I planted. It's further away from the house than the big ash that was near the house that I had dropped in Spring. This tree won't get anywhere as big, so it'll be fine.

I'd love to plant an oak or shagbark hickory in the big party of the grass though. Next year... There used to be a big willow that was in that area, but that was taken out well before we bought the house in 2008.

How long has she had the Equinox? That is one we would consider. It definitely has to be less expensive to maintain and repair. We took an extended warranty which really paid for itself. It runs out next September and at that point we will make a decision.

Thanks, I wasn’t sure, but will give it a tankful and see what’s happens. I remember when premium was only 10 or 15 cents more than regular.

Oh this is funny. Could get a little political as well. I don't know what you are paying for gas but here it is 1.649/litre or for our US friends $6.242/US gal.

Sorry to contradict but they are well known as reliable and way better than that VW POS. I worked for GM in Engineering for several years by the way, I possibly know a thing or two about lots of vehicles. Worst problem ever was the rear driveshafts losing the center bearing on AWD models on a totally welded non serviceable shaft. With the proper equipment it’s an easy repair saving you about $1200. Other than that they have the normal failures all things on the road have. I can go deeper if you want.

She bought 2019 lease return last December with 22k. So far the only thing she had to do is replace the remote in the key fob. She wanted one for a few years but loved that Tiguan just hated everything that went with it.

Such a shame that VW cant make reliable cars like they used to. For a compact SUV with the 19’ tires on the SEL the thing handles like it’s on rails. We’ve gone through a rear engine seal and a turbo in the six years we’ve owned it. Luckily we took the extended warranty.

Yup. She loved the car, it was the first vehicle she ever picked out and purchased on her own. Rode and drove good. Oil leaks, electrical issues, water pump problems. A friend owns a used car dealership and I asked him if he was interested in buying it. NOPE! Quick answer. Said he will never sell a VW that’s not under factory warranty because of all the problems. All Nickel and dime stuff for the most part but you never get rid of it. I totally understand. My daughters equinox is the 1.8, I’ve never drove it but she says that goes as good as the Tiguan. We have some friends with the 2.0 they have no complaints. Don’t know how much different really between the two, both turbo and same transmission. It is a little bigger than the VW. The new Trail Blazer is about the same size as the VW and right around $22k sticker.
