Usually where I work is pretty on top of "labels" in our yearly sensitivity / diversity training. However never heard of this so, I had to look it up. Cisgender is the opposite of transgender. So it is someone who thinks of themself as the gender with which they were born. It has nothing to do with sexual orientation. So a cisgender may be gay, straight or bi.

From Wikipedia, "The prefix cis- is not an acronym or abbreviation of another word; it is derived from Latin meaning on this side of. Coined in 1994, cisgender began to be added to dictionaries in 2015, as a result of changes in the way people discussed gender". Apparently someone in Germany came up with that.

IDK, this is all baffling to me - and just meant to divide us further. I don't care how people "identify" - that is their private business.

Me, I just identify as a crazy cat lady :D

What about furrys? Wife had someone come to her place and interview for an opening. Said she is a furry and required a litter box. WTF is next?

By the way, they “misplaced” her application and are searching for it with every spare minute they get.

That’s saying a lot, especially up in Maine. Is it safe to assume the “Furry” was a transplant from Boston, a COVID refugee? I’m seeing a lot of strange cookies in Connecticut that are pouring in from New York City. As urban as parts of CT are, I’m really struggling to understand what I’m seeing.

tree killer My daughter had an experience with Furrys her freshman year of high school. She came home all stressed out because this person furry had come up and barked at her face for like 30 seconds.

Well me being a rational kind of guy; I advised her to put a magazine in her backpack. And I said the next time they show up and bark at you. Take the magazine roll it up smack them across the nose and tell them bad dog.

My daughter who knows Well Seasoned and NH mountain man and Backwoods Savage; being the timid soul I raised ;) did just that! Which of course prompted a phone call to me from principal..

My response if they choose to act like a dog and we are being supportive and understanding of their psychosis, we wouldn’t we treat them as such?

    crickets:yes:

We are seeing more and more blue and purple hair on people, piercings in odd places, man buns and purses, all kinds of things. First I heard of someone thinking they are a cat. I did grow up with a kid, hi elevator didn’t reach the top floor, he was several fries short of a happy meal and a couple cards short of a full deck, he thought he was the dukes of hazzard until knight rider came out then he bought he was that car. Run around making noises and talking to his wrist all the time. Never heard anything about him since I got out of school, he was a few years younger than me.

I got a theory about the gender thing. Look down and see what is there. Boys are born with different rigging than girls, or at least in the 1900s. I don’t know if they can even surgically change that much and still be functional.

“They” claim it’s a social construct. That’s all well and good until you’re running late and get your “social construct” stuck in a zipper. Then one might find themselves teleported back down into reality. :picard:

Well, I'm not much into "social constructs".

I do however believe in biology.

I really don't care what people do in private.

I also don't think others need to affirm/celebrate someone else's personal choices.

My biggest issue is that those who do not "celebrate" this alternative belief structure are labeled as intolerant.

But those same people are intolerant of any viewpoint that opposes theirs.

    Hypocrisy at its finest.

I'm just getting sick and tired of "some people" deciding that I have not a clue as to what is good or no good for me, and that THEY will define and shape what I should think and believe or else I'm the problem. My question is what generation allowed this "idiot" mentality to infiltrate our education system and society?
